👨👩👧 AGE & PARTICIPATION
WHAT AGE CAN TAKE PART?
The Playground is suitable for ages 5+.
5 & 6 year olds can take part when accompanied around the course by a paying, participating adult.
There’s no upper age limit either — if you’re up for the challenge, you’re welcome!
HOW HARD IS THE PLAYGROUND?
It’s as hard as you want to make it!
There’s a mixture of easier obstacles and more challenging ones, so everyone can find their own level.
And remember — you don’t have to complete every obstacle.
DO I HAVE TO COMPLETE EVERY OBSTACLE?
Absolutely not!
Have a go at as many as you can, but there’s no pressure to complete anything you’re not comfortable with.
The biggest achievement is often tackling the obstacle you thought you couldn’t do.
WILL SOMEONE HELP ME?
Yes!
Our Playmakers are around throughout your session to explain obstacles, demonstrate techniques and give you encouragement when you need it.
🧤 WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Old trainers and clothes you don’t mind getting very muddy!
We recommend bringing:
A change of warm, dry clothes
A towel
A positive mental attitude!
WILL I GET WET AND MUDDY?
YES.
That’s rather the point!
You’ll encounter mud, water and plenty of opportunities to get filthy. We recommend saving the deepest muddy ditches until later in your session.
ARE THERE SHOWERS?
Yes… sort of. 😂
We have our famous “Luxury Showers” — aka hosepipes!
They’re perfect for washing off the worst of the mud, but they’re outdoors and there’s no hot water.
ARE THERE CHANGING FACILITIES?
Yes.
Cambridge: Male & female changing rooms at the sports hall.
Ipswich: Male & female changing rooms.
ARE THERE TOILETS?
Yes.
Cambridge: Sports hall toilets, including accessible toilets.
Ipswich: Portable toilets.
🏃 ON THE DAY
WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE?
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your session.
This gives you plenty of time to get parked, changed and ready for your adventure.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
If you’ve booked online, have your booking confirmation available on your phone.
And don’t forget:
Old trainers. Mud-friendly clothes. Towel. Change of clothes.
Everything else is optional. 😎
CAN I BRING MY FAMILY & FRIENDS TO WATCH?
Absolutely — spectators are FREE.
There are areas where spectators can watch the action, take photos and cheer you on.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Yes!
Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on a lead.
💪 SAFETY
WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET INJURED?
Your safety is our priority.
Our Playmakers carry out safety checks and are trained to provide assistance where required. Every session has a first-aid-trained Playmaker on site and a first aid kit available.
If you’re injured or feel unable to continue, let a Playmaker know.
DO I NEED TO BE FIT?
No!
You don’t need to be an athlete to take on The Playground.
There are obstacles for different abilities and you can tackle the course at your own pace.
🌊 WATER & OBSTACLES
DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO SWIM?
Not necessarily.
However, our muddy ditch can vary in depth depending on the weather and season, so if you’re not a confident swimmer, please speak to a Playmaker before entering it.
And remember — you don’t have to do it!

CAN I GET A REFUND IF I CAN’T ATTEND?
Our cancellation and refund policy is explained in our Terms & Conditions.
CAN I CHANGE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE ON MY BOOKING?
If you need to make changes to your booking, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help.
HOW DO I PAY?
Bookings are made online.
If you have an exceptional circumstance that prevents online booking, please contact us before travelling to The Playground.
DO YOU SELL GIFT VOUCHERS?
Yes!
Give someone the gift of mud, obstacles and questionable life choices.
Our gift vouchers can be used at either Cambridge or Ipswich.
☕ FOOD & DRINK
CAN I GET FOOD AND DRINK?
Cambridge - we have hot and cold drinks available, plus ice creams and crisps.
Ipswich - we are right next to Suffolk Food Hall, which has some of the tastiest food and drink in East Anglia!
